About
Patricia Schwimmer grew up in a suburb of Toronto and has always had a fascination with art, but it wasn't until the early 90's, after a long detour into the business world, that she began to paint and study in earnest. Her interest in painting was rekindled when she began an intensive course of study at The Painting Experience Studio in San Francisco, where she travelled to paint for a period of three years. Afterward, in fulfilling a desire to teach, Patricia became certified as an Expressive Arts Therapist. She holds a certificate in creativity coaching with Eric Maisel and has studied with The Person Centered Expressive Therapy Institute, as well as with Aviva Gold, author of Painting from the Source. In 2000, she attained her Master's of Arts through The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology.
Patricia's Painting from Within classes have taken place in various venues around Buffalo and in Canada's cottage country; including the Georgian Bay School of the Arts and Chautauqua Institution. She has shown her work in cafes and galleries throughout Western New York. Her paintings have appeared in numerous publications in faraway places like Australia, England, France and South America and are featured in the book entitled Life, Paint and Passion. She can also be found in a number of retail poster websites.
